Scholarship applications for 2018 are OPEN!
The Whitireia Foundation is calling for scholarship applications now. The scholarships are open to domestic students planning to study at Whitireia campuses in 2018.
Our scholarships provide financial assistance for tuition fees, unless otherwise specified. In addition to a financial (or equivalent) award, some students will have paid work experience opportunities. Apprenticeships may follow for promising students completing their work experience. There are some scholarships that cover tools.
Please refer to the documents below if you are considering making an application for next year’s scholarships. These forms apply to the 2018 year.

With $120,000 awarded in scholarships in 2017, ranging in value from $1000 to $3000, the Foundation gratefully acknowledges the support of all our sponsors, many who have supported Whitireia and the Foundation for a number of years. These committed sponsors include Fuji Xerox NZ, Altrusa and Zonta International of Mana, Ngāti toa, law firm Ford Sumner, Compass Health, Porirua City Council, Trust Porirua, Graduate Women Wellington, the Wellington Ostomy Association and the Campbell, Sheppard, Kirk-Burnnand, and Simpson families. Into their forth year as sponsors for 2018 are Brittons House Movers, EftPos Vending Ltd, Gee & Hickton Funeral Home, Red Wolf Security, ISS Services and the Derek Wootton Memorial Trust. Offering scholarships for the third time are the the Porirua Club, L & K Jujnovich, Foster Melville Architects and LT McGuinness Ltd. Renewing their commitment for 2018, with their second year partnering with the Foundation to offer scholarships are ProQuest and Noel Leeming Ltd. With all our wonderful sponsors on board, and a few new ones that we are working on right now, we envisage passing our milestone of 50 scholarships.
The selection committee considers three main criteria when considering applicants and selecting recipients. These are:
- demonstration of a genuine desire and ability to succeed in the chosen area of study
- financial circumstances
- personal achievement.
