Applications are now OPEN for 2019!
The Whitireia Foundation is calling for scholarship applications, with applications closing on 14 December 2018.
Our scholarships are open to domestic students planning to study at Whitireia’s Porirua and Wellington campuses in 2019. They provide financial assistance for tuition fees, unless otherwise specified.
In addition to a financial (or equivalent) award, some students will have paid work experience opportunities. Apprenticeships may follow for promising students completing their work experience. Some scholarships cover tools.
Please refer to the documents below if you are considering making an application for our 2019 scholarships.
These forms apply to the 2019 year.

The Foundation gratefully acknowledges the support of all our sponsors, many who have supported Whitireia and the Foundation for a number of years. These committed sponsors include Fuji Xerox NZ, Ngāti toa, law firm Ford Sumner, Compass Health, Porirua City Council, Elite Services and the Campbell, Sheppard, Jujnovich and Kirk-Burnnand families. Into their fifth year as sponsors for 2019 are Brittons House Movers, EftPos Vending Ltd, Gee & Hickton Funeral Home, Red Wolf Security, ISS Services and the Derek Wootton Memorial Trust. Offering scholarships for the forth time are Foster + Melville Architects and LT McGuinness Ltd. With all our wonderful sponsors, and new ones coming on board, we hope to again reach our target of 50 scholarships for 2019.
The selection committee considers three main criteria when considering applicants and selecting recipients. These are:
- demonstration of a genuine desire and ability to succeed in the chosen area of study
- financial circumstances
- personal achievement.
